On Sunday, 12 May 2013, we tried to get into the shoes of Jesus’ disciples at the time of his farewell speech (John 15:26 – 16:4). Christ told the disciples that he will have to part from this world, but that his followers won’t be left alone, that they would receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus’ spirit would be with them for all time and guide them all their ways – helping them to testify about Christ, God’s love and mercy, and also to bear witness of the state of the world, sin and hate. In the same way the Holy Spirit is with believers, who follow Jesus in their lives, tell the good news and repent of their sin.
